How To Pray in Times Like These
Updated: Jul 17, 2019
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world” John 16:33 (NASB)

Do you ever wonder how to pray when circumstances, troubling news, or situations seem hopeless? God’s word is the source of inspiration and truth; and God Himself is in control. Thankfully, He is never surprised by circumstances, news, or situations.
In Jeremiah 32:27 God says rhetorically, “Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is anything too difficult for Me?” Gabriel concluded his message to Mary in Luke 1:37 by saying, “For nothing will be impossible with God.” Jesus continued answering the disciples questions in Matthew 19:26 by saying, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Claim Ephesians 3:20-21.
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
God knew there would be times when we would not know how to pray; He provided the Holy Spirit to “intercede for us with groanings too deep for words.” Jesus is also at the right hand of God interceding for us. See Romans 8:26, 34.
Father, we often feel helpless in times of trouble, but our eyes are on You.
Thank You for the assurance that You are with us and will never forsake us. Help
us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to You. Thank You that Your peace
which surpasses all comprehension will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
See Philippians 4:6-7.
